Isn’t Narendra Modi’s outlook correct?

Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, on Wednesday (September 24, 2014) morning has witnessed the historic event of success of the Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM), prestigiously undertaken by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), at ISRO Telemetry Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC) in Bangalore.

Soon after the successful placement of the satellite into the Mars orbit, Narendra Modi addressed the entire nation. In his concluding lines, he said that the ultimate aim of any mission lies in the nation building. While reciting the scientists as rishis (monks), he said that such great missions like MOM are possible only through the scientists – who sacrifice many things for the sake of the nation.

Further, Modi said that the success of scientists is worth 1000 times the success of the cricket team and asked every individual to celebrate the occasion. He referred to the verse of Rabindranath Tagore before concluding:”… Where the mind is led forward by thee into ever-widening thought and action into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake”.

Yes, in India celebrations touch the sky with glory, whenever the Indian cricket team wins an international match. What about such a splendid achievement grabbed by the ISRO in its maiden attempt – that made the entire country feel proud? Words fail to describe what ISRO has done for the nation. It’s not alone the cricket team that fetch the nation laurels, but also various other sports – for that matter various sectors make India feel proud. Everything is essential for the nation’s development; and each sector needs a patting and helping hand, apart from the back-up. Is it not so?
